The Japanese art of kintsugi has inspired me deeply for a long time. Kintsugi is the art form of repairing broken pottery with powdered gold. This artwork is also inspired by Plum Village teaching of looking deeply into your tea and being able to see non tea elements in it. Looking in this way, we see the clouds, sunshine and other nature elements that help make this cup of tea possible. Like the kintsugi philosophy of seeing beauty in imperfection, when we recognise our wounds, we learn from them and gain wisdom too.
